What is the all-time worst remake of a song. There is constantly talk about best covers (Toots and the Maytals, Country Road), but I am trying to figure out the worst. This question popped in my head last night as I heard the P-diddy version of Every Breath You Take and that is pretty bad, but there is no way it's the worst.

I vote for Smash Mouth's cover of "I'm A Believer." But that could be biased by my unbridled hatred for all things Smash Mouth.
I didn't realize how bad Sheryl Crowe's "The First Cut is the Deepest" until I listened to Cat Stevens' version again and found it so enjoyable. But clarke's right, Smash Mouth's magic crappy touch makes for a good 1a.
